The structural steel beams and columns for a 60,000 sq ft depot at Skypark business park in Exeter have gone up, with photographs of the new structure reported in the Exeter Express and Echo.

Based close to Exeter Airport, and just to the north of the transport hub, Skypark is an ongoing development project under the stewardship of regeneration company St Modwen, and as a joint venture with Devon County Council.

Overall, the site covers some 1.4 million sq ft, with a new primary access road into the business park due for completion by September 2015.

Ian Guy, senior development manager for St Modwen, said: “With the Western Fields landscaping also close to completion, all of the site’s key infrastructure will be in place for occupiers to enjoy the unique working environment being created.”

Part of that working environment is this new depot, which itself is due for completion in October.

The structural steel beams and columns will eventually support a delivery distribution centre, which in turn is expected to provide 147 jobs for the local population.
